Real work experience in the heart of the Garden Route

At the Francois Ferreira Academy, we believe that true culinary excellence is built on three essential pillars: solid theory, hands-on practice, and real-world industry experience. Our training begins in the classroom, where students gain a strong foundation in culinary theory. This knowledge is then brought to life in our state-of-the-art Academy kitchens, where learners practice techniques, sharpen skills, and build confidence under the guidance of experienced chefs.

But what truly sets us apart is the third and most transformative part of the journey: workplace experience. Situated in the heart of the beautiful Garden Route, we are surrounded by an incredible variety of industry partners. From small, family-run artisanal bakeries, fun in the Outeniqua Spar Bakery, to internationally renowned hotels, restaurants, and world-class golf estates, our students are exposed to a diverse range of culinary environments.
We take care of the entire placement process, matching each student with a suitable establishment. Our dedicated team conducts rotational visits to ensure that learners are supported, mentored, and gaining the practical exposure they need to thrive.

By the time you graduate, you won’t just leave with an internationally recognized diploma. You’ll have a CV filled with real work experience. There is truly no better place to launch your culinary or hospitality career than right here in the heart of the Garden Route.
